This is our dog, Chloe. She insists on waking my wife and I up every morning at 5:30am to eat breakfast. Yes, you read that correctly, 5:30am. Every day. Even Saturdays. But still, we love her.
I was thankful she got me up this morning. If she hadn’t, I would have missed this gorgeous sunlight streaming into our kitchen.
Last month, I had the distinct privilege of second shooting Ashley and Zach’s wedding with the fabulous Shannon Cunningham at Central Christian Church (with the reception at the UT Alumni Center) in downtown Austin. It was a gorgeous (albeit insanely hot… but this is Texas, so what’s new?) day! And I’ll second Shannon’s blog posting: these two were so calm, cool, and collected the whole time – dream clients!
Perhaps the boys’ impromptu Tavern run had something to do with the laid back vibe? Hmmm…
I first met Stacey and Nigel on the morning of their engagement session, and after fifteen minutes, I felt like we were all old friends. They are freaking awesome. Fun to photograph, and pretty much down for whatever sillyness I threw at them (which is always a plus!).
Thanks for the good times, y’all. Can’t wait to shoot the gorgeousness that will be your wedding this fall!
If I could use only one word to sum up Mindy and Taylor, it would be chemistry. Wow. If I could distill just a little bit of that chemistry, bottle it, and distribute it to those that need it, the world would be a much better place. And I’d be filthy stinking rich.
These two met at a karaoke bar outing (with mutual friends). And after hanging out with them for an hour or two, it was apparent to me how this totally fits their personalities. What an awesome couple! They were pretty much down for whatever I threw at them, including waking up at the crack of dawn on a weekend (mental note: standing in the middle of South Congress is generally not such a good idea).
Did I mention they’re getting married in Cape Cod this fall? How gorgeous is that going to be?
Congrats, y’all! And thanks for the good times!
When winter rears it’s ugly head in Texas, sometimes it’s just best to move indoors. (Not today. It’s 85 degrees and sunny outside. Go figure!) So when it was cold (back in November), I did some studio work with the lovely Sofia and the super-talented makeup artist Dee Azlan. I’ve been kicking myself because I never got around to posting these. Well, here are the results from Sofie’s studio session, straight out of “the vault”. Enjoy!
ps — I’m currently booking February photo sessions. If you’d like to play, contact me.
Tammy and Chris had a gorgeous laid-back-South-Austin-style ceremony at Mercury Hall last Saturday. After all the chaos of the formals was over and every last person booked it out of there to join the reception already in progress, the bride and groom took a moment to just be, and to take in the fact that they’re married. What a beautiful moment! What a fantastic couple! I’m still pouring through the images I took on their big day (second shooting for my friend Sherry of Sherry Hammonds Photography), but these were too good to pass up… just wanted to “share the love”…
So I have a blog-tastic backlog of people and images I have yet to write about (let’s see.. two weddings and several shoots, who’s counting anyway?), but I couldn’t resist posting just one of the many images Elisha and I came away with during her portrait session last Friday.
Elisha hails from San Antonio, is a mom, model and actress. In a word, she’s cool. She wanted some updated images to show off her new do and to capture her lively personality. Check, and check.
There’s more photos to come, but enjoy this one for now. Thanks for making the trip from SA and for sweating your butt off with me, Elisha! You did a terrific job!
If Betsy looks familiar, it’s because she was an extra on NBC’s Friday Night Lights (she played a cheerleader – her character graduated last season) which is about to start production again in the Austin area. These images came out of a portrait session with her yesterday evening. Can you tell the mercury was pushing 100 degrees when we started shooting? Me neither.
I couldn’t resist putting these up on the ol’ blog. Look for more pictures from this session soon. Thanks for being such a trooper (and braving those mosquitos and sprinklers), Betsy!
