Henry’s birthday (It’s a boy!)

It’s been an amazing several days. Our son (and first child) Henry, was born via c-section a few days ago. My wife and I had every intention of having a natural birth without medical intervention, but sometimes things don’t go according to plan. I’m just so thankful that he’s here, and that mommy and baby are both healthy and happy, and that after a lengthy stay in the hospital, we’re all finally home. Life is good!
New Addition

There’s going to be a new addition to the James Dvorscak Photography family soon! My wife and I are expecting our first child at the end of October. Are you wondering if it’s a boy or a girl? Yeah, we are too! Leave a comment with your best guess.
Travel: A view of Chicago from the Hancock Center Observatory
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and even though Austin is now my home, I always jump at the opportunity to head back to Illinois. Here are a few photos from the 94th floor of the Hancock Center, taken during a recent trip to Chicago.
By the way, these are black and white because they were shot on black and white film.

Labor Day in Port Aransas
Hope everyone had a nice Labor Day weekend. Jessica and I packed up our dog and drove down to the coast for a great little beach getaway with friends. I packed way too many cameras, and in the end, I just shot photos on my iPhone / Hipstamatic. Sometimes simple is better – especially on vacation.

The Photobooth

I second-shot a wedding last weekend down at Hideout on the Horseshoe with my friend Sherry Hammonds. During the reception, we couldn’t resist popping in to the SocialFly Photo Booth and snapping a few photos of ourselves before getting back to work. Fun!
