Shelly and Matt – down by the river (6/9/2008)

My pal Sherry and I drove way down to New Braunfels (at one point I could have sworn I heard some dueling banjo’s) to shoot Shelly and Matt’s wedding (I was second shooting for Sherry of Sherry Hammonds Photography).  It was at the Hideout on the Horseshoe, which is an absolutely beautiful venue to get married at!  I was a little worried at first, because when we arrived, there were hundreds of drunken tubers floating by on the river… but as the afternoon gave way to dusk, the aforementioned hammered tubers disappeared and Shelly and Matt were wed in a riverside ceremony. In flip flops!  What an awesome, fun, laidback, cool couple!  And their wedding had a lot of cool personal touches (guests were greeted with a mojito-powered cocktail hour, the bride and groom made their getaway on a raft at the end of the night — just to name a few things). It’s always such an honor to be there on someone’s wedding day. Double bonus when the party rocks! Thanks for all the good times, you two. Hope you had a blast in Martha’s Vinyard.

Elisha

So I have a blog-tastic backlog of people and images I have yet to write about (let’s see.. two weddings and several shoots, who’s counting anyway?), but I couldn’t resist posting just one of the many images Elisha and I came away with during her portrait session last Friday.

Elisha hails from San Antonio, is a mom, model and actress. In a word, she’s cool. She wanted some updated images to show off her new do and to capture her lively personality. Check, and check.

There’s more photos to come, but enjoy this one for now. Thanks for making the trip from SA and for sweating your butt off with me, Elisha! You did a terrific job!

Betsy

If Betsy looks familiar, it’s because she was an extra on NBC’s Friday Night Lights (she played a cheerleader – her character graduated last season) which is about to start production again in the Austin area.  These images came out of a portrait session with her yesterday evening. Can you tell the mercury was pushing 100 degrees when we started shooting? Me neither.

I couldn’t resist putting these up on the ol’ blog. Look for more pictures from this session soon. Thanks for being such a trooper (and braving those mosquitos and sprinklers), Betsy!
