Shot on Fuji Pro 400H 120 film with a Contax 645. In case you’re a nerd and wanted to know.
(nerd tech info: Shot on Fuji Pro 400H film with my father’s old manual Minolta SRT MC-II 35mm — the same camera I’ve played with since I was eight years old.. which makes that camera, and me now, pretty old. As fun as digital is, something tells me that my son won’t be poking around with my 5D in 20 years… but that Minolta will probably still be around, and it will still be able to make gorgeous images.)

Back in May, I had the opportunity to second shoot Carolyn and Jim’s fantastic wedding with the fabulous Sherry Hammonds of Sherry Hammonds Photography. And it proved to be one of my favorite weddings to date. The ceremony and reception were held at Jim’s family’s ranch in Bertram — which turned out to be a gorgeous, unique backdrop to a wonderful union. Here are just a few photos from the day…
This is our dog, Chloe. She insists on waking my wife and I up every morning at 5:30am to eat breakfast. Yes, you read that correctly, 5:30am. Every day. Even Saturdays. But still, we love her.
I was thankful she got me up this morning. If she hadn’t, I would have missed this gorgeous sunlight streaming into our kitchen.
Last month, I had the distinct privilege of second shooting Ashley and Zach’s wedding with the fabulous Shannon Cunningham at Central Christian Church (with the reception at the UT Alumni Center) in downtown Austin. It was a gorgeous (albeit insanely hot… but this is Texas, so what’s new?) day! And I’ll second Shannon’s blog posting: these two were so calm, cool, and collected the whole time – dream clients!
Perhaps the boys’ impromptu Tavern run had something to do with the laid back vibe? Hmmm…
